Visio Stand
This is a stand that I made for a Vizio tablet. Used in Rehab. I wish I could have made it out of some kind of plastic but didn’t have any. This will keep the user from dropping it when using the scanner . I also mounted it on a roll around stand enabling them to move it from room to room.
Storage Unit for Office
This is a Storage unit that I made out of some leftover lumber I had
Legs are from some Driftwood that I found when we lived in Tillamook. Really hard wood. nice Deep Red Color.
The Big Desk
Here is a photo of the finished Desk. Its 24 feet long and 4 feet wide at the widest point. Below are photos of the process of building.
First I bult a fram so that I could know exactly the way I wanted to cut the top. With the roof angle and all we needed to be able to sit and get up without hitting our heads and also wanted to be able to put some computer monitors up without hitting the ceiling.
Setting up how the layout will go. Angles of workstations. Marking all Cuts.
Flooring is 3/4 inch Plywood Stained and finished to match the flooring in the rest of the house.
Installing the finished Desktop.
Top Placement. The top is 3 Pieces of 3/4 birch Plywood.
Network Lay out. I used some old cat5e connectors that we removed from a re wire job.
Each workstation has Network and Power on the top of the desk.
Finished Wiring
Door Cut out and Finish. 1/4 round on all edges. Blue and white bins are from Ikea. Great for storing things.
There is a 16 inch wide shelf the full 24 feet. This will make great storage. I put doors all the way down. Had to leave a cut to for floor vents.
Shelf and Doors.
Finished
Finished Desk. The Center cabinets don’t have a toe kick because that is where the floor vents are now venting out.
Something I have found that works great for work surfaces is 1/8 inch hard board. its smooth and cheep if damaged. Easy to replace also.
The only thing left to do is to run a wire back to the network Closet. I will have a network switch placed under one of the Workstations to handle all the networking for this room. Would have home run all the wires but its really hard to get wires to this room.
Scamp Axle Replacement
noticed that that scamp we purchased was running a bit like a lowrider. I looked on line and found that the axle should be 22.5* down and mine was at least 15 to 20 * up… after jacking up the trailer and taking the wheels off. I was able to pull the axle with my hands. and decided it must be changed.
First I marked where the axle was and the Cut off the old axle. Took it in and Ordered a new one. it came from Dexter for about 1/2 the price from Scamp. Once I got it I pulled the trailer back into the garage and welded on the new axle. Trailer looks so much better now and should tow better now also..
Convert HP-1505 to HP-1505n
First you will need to order a HP-1505n printer board.
Description: Formatter Ass’y, LJ P1505n, Rfb
Once that arrives the project can begin.
Remove the left side of the printer / from facing from the front.
Remove the screw that holds the side on.. This is located on the back of the printer.

Use a small flat screwdriver and gently pop the bottom and back and top.

Pop back side then top
Remove usb Printer Board. there are 4 silver screws.
un plug the ribbon cable from the printer. the ribbon will stay connected to the printer board.
now for the hard part.. this may not be reversible once done unless you are very very good at soldering. pick up the ribbon cable and bend back and forth or take a razor blade and cut it off as close to the printer board as you can. you will need as much of the cable as possible. We will modify this (in the next step) to work on the new HP-P1505 N printer board.
Ribbon Modification.. Take a razor blade or knife and scrape off only one side and it must be the same side as the one that plugs into the board on the printer. See photo. Do not take off the wires and be carful not to pull the wires out.. They may slide. take a Sharp Scissors and trim the end flat.
Now one side you have a 1/4 inch of bare wires on each end.
Printer board mount modifications.
this photos shows what it looks like once you remove the printer board. You will need to modify this mount so that the Ethernet port on your new printer board will fit.

take and make a cut about 1/2 inch in and bend that part back. Test your Printer board to see if it will fit. If it dose mount in place. Place all 4 screws back in.

place ribbon cable back in place on main board and plug in to new printer board.
You have now installed your HP-1505n printer board.
Plug in power and ether net. Turn on and once printer has booted hold down the green paper button on the top and it will print out what IP address your new printer has. if all went well you will get a ip address.. one last step. Turn off unit. and put side back on.
Replace side cover placing the front of the cover on first then working backwards. then replace the back screw. Now you have a HP -1505n
Congratulations you now have a network printer..
